Bookhouse Cinema has opened some Pub space for a photo contest designed to bring awareness to the current plight of Camp Mintahama. Mintahama is dear to our family and to thousands of others. In the past year, it has been sold by the Girl Scout Council. The camp wasn’t sold because its unpopular or unneeded, nor because its facilities needed too much repair. The Council simply needed a cash infusion and we were the forfeit. The current owner is looking to sell a portion of the remains of the camp and a nonprofit has been registered to meet a goal of securing a camp for the deserving and hardworking campers in the region. Please consider supporting our local scouts and campers and play a role in spreading awareness about this situation.

We will have a photo contest and the photos will be hanging from July 26th through August 8th. The winners were announced Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 3 PM – 6 PM. Please come check out the details about our camp and collect information on where we need help. We have a long way to go and we can work together to make the dream of giving our community its camp back.
